The Yi Dao Cultural Research Committee of the Religious Society of China (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) is a non-profit social academic organization that integrates "teaching, learning, research and application" and is composed of experts, scholars and Yi-ology enthusiasts who are engaged in Yi Dao cultural research in scientific research institutes and universities. The current director is Professor Tan Degui, doctoral supervisor of the Institute of World Religions of China Academy of Social Sciences. On the premise of strictly abiding by the Constitution, laws and regulations, national policies and social ethics, we should integrate social Yi-ology cultural resources, promote the study of modern Yi Dao cultural theory, promote the promotion and development of Chinese excellent traditional culture, and advocate the construction of Yi Dao cultural research discipline system with China characteristics.
The Chinese Religious Society is the competent authority of this Committee and abides by the Constitution of the Chinese Religious Society and relevant rules and regulations in its practical work. The Committee's operational activities and organizational construction are guided by the China Academy of Social Sciences and the Institute of World Religions of the China Academy of Social Sciences.
The inaugural meeting of the Yi Dao Cultural Research Association of the Chinese Religious Society and the first summit forum on Yi-ology were held in Beijing from February 22 to 24, 2009, which was a complete success, marking a solid step for the Cultural Research Association of the Chinese Religious Society to inherit the excellent Chinese traditional culture.
