Feast master
In principle, there are no five elements in Zen practice: regulating diet, regulating sleep, regulating body, regulating breath and regulating mind, among which the latter three are more important. The purpose is to regulate the body and mind, and the key is to talk about the health and unity of the body and mind, leaving no breath.
(A) meditation focuses on experience
When Bodhisattvas come to dharma drum mountain to attend meditation camps, they should not only hear about Buddhism, but also learn meditation methods, so as to achieve the goal of self-invention.
What is Zen? Literally speaking, Zen is a kind of "meditation", which is used to achieve the realm of meditation. The content of Zen is difficult to express in words and needs to be proved in person.
Just like a person who has never seen or eaten mango, no matter how you describe the color, shape and taste of mango, he can't understand it unless he tastes it himself. Another example is blind people asking for color. A person who has been blind since childhood wants to know what white is. Someone told him that he was as white as white cloth and white paper, someone told him that he was as white as a white goose and dove, and someone told him that he was as white as snow and white powder. As a result, the blind man was confused. He thinks the whiteness of white should be simple. Why does everyone make it so complicated? The reason is that he has never seen Bai, so he still can't imagine what someone said.
For those who have not yet entered Zen, Zen cannot be explained in words, nor can it be understood in words. But language can guide or instruct beginners how to experience it for themselves. Because the experience of Zen is "like drinking water, you know yourself in cold and warm", and you have to rely on your own taste.
Introduction to meditation methods
In principle, there are no five elements in Zen practice: regulating diet, regulating sleep, regulating body, regulating breath and regulating mind, and the latter three are more important. The purpose is to regulate body and mind, and the key is to talk about the health and unity of body and mind without breathing.
1. warm-up exercise
Generally speaking, the main method of body adjustment refers to the sitting posture of meditation. In addition to sitting posture, there are other methods such as walking, standing and lying down, which are called meditation, walking meditation, standing meditation and lying meditation respectively.
Exercise and assistance are also needed before and after sitting. If we want to be healthy physically and mentally, we must pay equal attention to both motion and activity. Exercise is to make the blood circulation smooth, the qi pulse run lively, the muscles and nerves relax, so as to make the body comfortable, that is, the so-called qi and peace of mind.
If the body lacks exercise, the physiological function will be prone to aging and infection, and exercise will relax the physiological function from the tense state and get more nutrition supply and rest opportunities. The movement of Zen people emphasizes mental concentration and smooth breathing. The movement of meditators is one of the ways to practice meditation. Therefore, in the method of body adjustment, we should pay equal attention to exercise and meditation.
The exercises we teach are only two meters square or the length of a person, even a small space is enough for the body to sit and stand; And no matter men, women, children, strong or weak, you can practice with confidence.
Don't meditate before doing any activities after getting up in the morning. Before meditation, you should do a simple warm-up exercise to soften your bones and muscles.
