The high-speed railway along the Yangtze River passes through six provinces and cities such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing and Sichuan, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is the backbone of the comprehensive three-dimensional traffic system in the Yangtze River basin and the aorta of the national eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway network.
Following the first construction of the Wuhan-Yichang section in September last year, the Hubei section of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River (the newly-built Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway) is accelerating, the Hefei-Wuhan section will start construction within this year, and the other two sections are expected to receive feasibility study approval within this year.
Hefei-Wuhan section: part of the province passes through Macheng and Hong 'an to Wuhan, and the main line 163.3km is newly built, with four stations including Macheng North, Hong 'an, Changjiang New Area and Wuhan Tianhe. At present, the feasibility study of the project has passed the examination and is awaiting approval, and the preliminary design has been completed and is awaiting approval. We will strive to approve the feasibility study in June and start construction this year.
Wuhan Hub Direct Line: Located in Wuhan and Xiaogan, it starts from Yunmeng East Station of Han Shi High-speed Railway, crosses the river through newly-built Xiaogan South Station, Hanyang Station and Baishazhou Yangtze River Bridge, and connects Wujiu Passenger Dedicated Line and Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway. The total length of the new line is about 107km. At present, the feasibility study of the project has passed the examination and is awaiting approval, and the preliminary design has been completed and is awaiting approval. We strive to approve the feasibility study as soon as possible.
Wuhan-Yichang section: It starts from the existing Hankou Station, passes through Tianmen and Jingmen to Yichang North Station, and the newly-built line is 295.9km, with seven new stations including Hanchuan East, Tianmen North, Jingshan South, Zhongxiang South, Jingmen West, Dangyang West and Yichang North. At present, six of the seven construction blocks in Wuyi section have actually started construction and entered the stage of large-scale construction.
Yichang-Fuling section: it starts from Yichang in the east and passes through Changyang, Wufeng, Hefeng, Enshi and Lichuan in the west to Chongqing, of which Hubei section will build a new main line of 326.2 kilometers. At present, the feasibility study of the project has been completed and is being pre-examined, and we will strive to reply to the feasibility study within this year.
The high-speed railway along the Yangtze River runs through the eastern, central and western parts of China, connecting six provinces and cities, and connecting the Yangtze River Delta, the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and Chengdu-Chongqing in series. After the completion of the whole line, the freight capacity of Shanghai railway will be further released, the transportation pressure of the Yangtze River dam will be alleviated, and the agglomeration of elements, industrial agglomeration and coordinated division of labor in coastal cities will be accelerated, providing hard support for the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
