Can I withdraw my bank deposit after death?

After the depositor dies, the heir must issue a valid certificate of his legal inheritance right to the bank before withdrawing the deposit. If there are many legal heirs, but there is no dispute about the division of the deceased's deposits, or there is only one heir, then the heirs can apply to the local notary office for an inheritance certificate with the deposit certificate, valid identity certificate and depositor's death certificate. After investigation and examination by the notary office, if it meets the conditions for issuing certificates, the notary office will issue a certificate of inheritance. The bank handles the deposit payment or transfer procedures for the legal heir of the deposit with the inheritance certificate. If there is a dispute between several legal heirs about the inheritance right of deposits, they can't apply to the notary office for an inheritance certificate, but only bring a lawsuit to the people's court, and the court will make a judgment on the inheritance right of deposits of the deceased and the share due to each heir. After the judgment comes into effect, the legal heir of the deposit can go to the bank to handle the deposit withdrawal or transfer procedures with the judgment document of the court.
