Why do psychological counselors always ask visitors a lot of questions but give no advice?

Psychological counselors always ask visitors many questions without giving advice:

When the visitor is consulting, sometimes it may be a small problem that the visitor thought of at that time and threw it to the psychological counselor. Psychological counselors can't understand all the reasons of visitors from one sentence or one paragraph, so they ask questions. The purpose is to learn more about visitors, so as to understand the root of the problem and analyze how to help visitors.

Furthermore, psychological counseling is a process of helping others and helping themselves, under the teacher's question. Visitors recall and reflect on the source of the problem and think about the emergence of the problem, so as to understand how to face the problem.

Counselors are no smarter than visitors. Counselors and visitors are ordinary people. They just study this major and master the techniques and theories of psychological counseling. It's just a profession. Like many professions, it takes a lot of time and money to make technology serve visitors and people with troubles, psychological problems and depression better and better.

So here I would like to pay tribute to all the predecessors of psychological counselors and colleagues who are moving towards this path, including myself! I also wish all visitors who come here for consultation can really open their hearts here, get rid of their troubles and live a good life! !
