3. 1, self-cleaning characteristics

Ethanol in vehicle ethanol gasoline is an excellent organic solvent with strong dissolution and cleaning characteristics. Experienced drivers and maintenance personnel often clean carburetors with ethanol. The carburetor cleaned in this way is clean and thorough. Similarly, ethanol gasoline for vehicles can also clean the oil circuit and keep the oil circuit unblocked. However, when the vehicle uses ethanol gasoline for the first time, especially after using 1-2 fuel tank oil, under the cleaning effect of ethanol gasoline, various impurities will be deposited and accumulated in the fuel tank and oil circuit (the longer the time, the more impurities will be accumulated. Especially iron oil tanks), such as rust, dirt, colloidal particles, etc. It is softened, dissolved and mixed into oil. These impurities may cause poor oil flow.

2, hydrophilic characteristics

Vehicle ethanol gasoline is mixed with a certain amount of denatured fuel ethanol, which is a hydrophilic liquid and easily miscible with water. Unlike gasoline, gasoline can be separated from water, and water is deposited at the bottom of the fuel tank. Therefore, when the vehicle uses ethanol gasoline for the first time, it should check the fuel tank to prevent ethanol gasoline from dissolving with the precipitation water that may exist at the bottom of the fuel tank, so that the water in the engine oil exceeds the standard and affects the normal operation of the engine.

Suggestion: Although this situation is rare, it cannot be ignored.

3. Is ethanol gasoline corrosive to metals?

The test shows that no obvious corrosion phenomenon is found in the corrosion test of brass, cast iron, steel, zinc and aluminum after adding metal corrosion inhibitor to ethanol gasoline. So far, no corrosion damage of metal parts has been found in the pilot vehicles.

4. Does ethanol gasoline have an effect on rubber adaptability?

The test shows that most rubber parts can adapt to ethanol gasoline. Only a few kinds are not suitable, but the corrosion is slow. In the pilot project, it was found that the rubber diaphragm in the early mechanical gasoline pump had poor adaptability, and some cracks appeared after using ethanol gasoline. Because the rubber parts can't distinguish the material composition in appearance, the purchased parts can be soaked in ethanol gasoline for vehicles in advance by the designated garage, and then loaded for use.

3. What preparations do vehicles need to make when using ethanol gasoline for the first time?

1. It is recommended to clean and inspect the oil tank and oil circuit components.

Because automobile ethanol gasoline has strong solubility and cleaning characteristics and hydrophilic characteristics. Therefore, it is suggested that when vehicles use ethanol gasoline for the first time, it is best to carry out a preventive inspection or cleaning of all components of the fuel tank and oil system to ensure the cleanliness of the fuel system.

Vehicles that drivers can't clean by themselves are recommended to go to the designated garage for inspection or cleaning.

Vehicles equipped with a clean oil system may not be able to be cleaned.

3. Cleaning method

① Cleaning of fuel tank

A, use a hose to pump out the fuel in the fuel tank, leaving fuel about 10- 15cm deep, and wipe the fuel tank with a clean rag.

② Cleaning of carburetor

Clean with special cleaning agent for carburetor. Clean the outside first, and then disassemble it to clean the inside.

Main cleaning parts: oil level chamber, oil circuits of various departments, main metering holes, atomizing nozzles, etc.

③ Cleaning of fuel pump

A. Electronic fuel pump: clean it with special cleaning agent for carburetor.

Main cleaning parts: oil inlet screen and external impurities.

B. Detachable mechanical fuel pump: clean it with special cleaning agent for carburetor.

Main cleaning components: oil cup, inlet and outlet valves (replace oil pump diaphragm appropriately).

C. Do not disassemble the mechanical fuel pump, and replace it with a new pump as appropriate (mainly the aging of the pump membrane).

4. Cleaning of fuel filter

A, removable fuel filter, clean with clean fuel.

Main cleaning components: oil cup and filter element.

① The theoretical air-fuel ratio of ordinary gasoline is15:1(14.3-15.1), the theoretical air-fuel ratio of ethanol is 9:1,and 10% ethanol is added to ethanol gasoline for vehicles. Theoretically, the air-fuel ratio is 10%. Therefore, the air-fuel ratio should be enriched and adjusted when using ethanol gasoline for vehicles.

(2) Because the burning speed of ethanol contained in ethanol gasoline for vehicles lags behind that of gasoline in theory, when using ethanol gasoline for vehicles, the ignition timing of vehicles with distributor should be adjusted slightly in advance on the basis of timing.

When the EFI vehicle uses ethanol gasoline, the parameters of the engine under various working conditions are automatically controlled by the computer and can be used normally without any adjustment.

Four. Comparison of power and fuel consumption between ethanol gasoline and ordinary gasoline for vehicles.

In terms of mechanism, adding 10% ethanol to ethanol gasoline for vehicles will reduce the dynamic performance. However, due to the rich oxygen content in ethanol, the oxygen content of oil products reaches 3.5%, and the combustion-supporting effect is good, which can fully burn the unburned part of ordinary gasoline and increase the calorific value effect. The two balance each other, so that the power remains unchanged and the comprehensive fuel consumption is flat.

According to 12 vehicles of three types (Li Xia, Fukang and Santana) in February, 20001year, each vehicle travels 80,000 kilometers. The adaptive driving test of ethanol gasoline and ordinary gasoline shows that:

① Compared with the acceleration time from 40km/h to 120km/h, no obvious regularity was found in dynamic performance. Ordinary gasoline and ethanol gasoline have their own advantages and disadvantages, that is, the advantages and disadvantages of the two fuels cannot be distinguished from the acceleration of the whole vehicle.

② The fuel economy of ethanol gasoline is generally better than that of ordinary gasoline, and the fuel consumption of only 1 vehicle is higher than that of ordinary gasoline in the test.

According to the introduction of the Technical Advisory Service Corps of the Office of the Leading Group for the Pilot Work of Ethanol Gasoline for Vehicles in Henan Province, Zhengzhou City, in August 2002, four vehicles (Li Xia, Fukang, Jetta and Songhua River Mini) of 16 carried out a comparative driving test between ethanol gasoline for vehicles and ordinary gasoline in high temperature weather in summer, with the participation of reporters from Henan TV Station, Henan Radio Station, Dahe Daily and Zhengzhou Evening News. The test results show that:

① Compared with ordinary gasoline, automotive ethanol gasoline has good power performance. Neither the driver nor the on-board reporter can tell the difference between the two fuels.

② In the fuel consumption record of 16 vehicles, the fuel consumption of ethanol gasoline of 14 vehicles is lower than that of ordinary gasoline, and only two vehicles have slightly higher fuel consumption than ordinary gasoline.

Chapter III Matters needing attention in using ethanol gasoline for the first time

First, the causes of unstable fuel consumption and matters needing attention

1, vehicle fuel tank and oil system are dirty. At the initial stage, it is mainly reflected that after the 1-2 fuel tank is used up, all kinds of impurities deposited or attached in the fuel tank are softened and dissolved and mixed into the oil, which leads to the blockage of related components of the oil system.

Troubleshooting: clean the oil tank and oil circuit.

2. When refueling for the first time, the precipitated water in the fuel tank was not removed, the water in the fuel tank was dissolved by ethanol gasoline after refueling, or the water in the oil itself exceeded the standard (caused by the gas station not completely removing the precipitated water in the fuel tank), which was caused by abnormal fuel combustion.

Troubleshooting: Drain the fuel in the fuel tank and refill the qualified fuel.

3. When ethanol gasoline was added for the first time, there was no self-adaptive enrichment adjustment of carburetor combustible mixture, and the ignition time was not adjusted in advance. Because the mixture is thin, the ignition time is late.

Elimination method: Adjust carburetor and ignition timing adaptively.

Second, the dynamic performance is affected by the reasons and matters needing attention

1. The oil tank and oil circuit are dirty and the oil circuit is blocked.

2. There is too much water in the oil, resulting in poor combustion.

3. The adjustment of carburetor and ignition timing is not suitable, resulting in too thin mixture and delayed ignition.

Third, measures to prevent oil and gas resistance in summer

Summer weather is hot, fuel oil is affected by high temperature, and some light distillate oil changes from liquid to gas. At this time, the overpressure gas is discharged into the atmosphere through the steam valve on the tank cover. Considering the safety and environmental protection of recently produced vehicles, the valve is designed outside the fuel tank and connected by pipes. Overpressure gas is discharged into carbon canister through pipeline and one-way valve, and is inhaled by engine. If the steam valve is blocked or doesn't work, overpressure gas will enter the oil supply pipeline, which will easily cause gas blockage in the oil circuit.

Troubleshooting: check the working condition of the oil tank accessory-steam pressure valve, and dredge it for maintenance or replacement if necessary.

Four. Causes and solutions of some temporary problems in the initial use of fuel pump

1, mechanical fuel pump:

The main reason is that the material of the oil pump diaphragm is unsuitable or aging. After using ethanol gasoline, the oil pump diaphragm expands and cracks, which makes the oil pump lose its oil pumping function.

Troubleshooting: Replace the oil pump diaphragm. If you can't tell whether the new diaphragm is alcohol-resistant, you can carry out immersion test in advance.

2. Electronic fuel pump

The main reasons are:

① The fuel in the fuel tank is not clean, and the oil inlet of the oil pump is blocked by impurities, resulting in oil cut-off. After the oil inlet is blocked, the oil pump will not be lubricated at high speed for a long time, which will cause the lateral clearance of the oil pump gear to wear out of the standard quickly, and at the same time, it is easy to burn out the oil pump coil and damage the oil pump at high speed.

Troubleshooting: Keep the fuel clean. When the noise of the fuel pump increases, it is generally caused by the blockage of the oil inlet screen and poor oil inlet. Clean the oil pump filter screen in time.

(2) If the fuel sensor or sensor float is damaged due to improper materials, the accuracy of oil level sensing will be affected, and the oil can not be replenished in time, so that the idle speed of the oil pump is lower than the oil level safety line or in an oil-free state, which is also the reason for the early damage or burning of the oil pump.

Troubleshooting: Check the working condition of the fuel sensor, and repair or replace it with a new one in time if it is damaged.

Chapter IV Basic Operation and Precautions of Using Ethanol Gasoline at the Initial Stage of Motorcycle

First, preparation before use

1. It is recommended that the motorcycle fuel tank be cleaned and inspected when it is used for the first time. Especially for motorcycles with a long service life, its iron fuel tank is easy to rust during long-term use, and there are more rubber particles attached. Therefore, the motorcycle fuel tank should be checked for preventive cleaning. Clean the oil tank properly if necessary.

Experience has proved that when using ethanol gasoline in the early stage, the common oil circuit problems (mainly carburetor and fuel filter blocked by dirt) are related to the unclean fuel tank.

2. Cleaning of fuel tank

When cleaning, you can clean the vehicle or remove the fuel tank according to the situation. Cleaning operation can refer to the cleaning operation method of automobile fuel tank.

3. Cleaning of carburetor and fuel filter

4. Newly bought motorcycles or motorcycles that have been used for less than one year can be added with ethanol gasoline without cleaning because the fuel tank oil circuit is relatively clean.

Second, the necessary measures

Chapter V Matters needing attention and operation methods of using ethanol gasoline in winter and summer

I. Precautions and operation methods for using ethanol gasoline in winter

Warm-up Start: Due to the atomization and combustion characteristics of ethanol gasoline, when starting the vehicle for the first time every day in winter, it should be fully warmed up (about 1-2 minutes), and then start driving after the engine temperature rises.

Two, the use of ethanol gasoline in summer matters needing attention and operation methods

1. Check whether the intake and exhaust valves of the fuel tank are unblocked: the high ambient temperature in summer increases the volatility of fuel. For example, the exhaust valve, an accessory of the fuel tank, is blocked. First, an example analysis of high gas resistance and fuel consumption in oil circuit in summer

Implementation: In order to implement the situation reflected by the owner, find out the cause of the problem and solve the problem, the original condition of the car was tested after consultation with the owner. On July 30th, the company sent drivers to drive along the North Ring Road, West Ring Road and Zhongyuan Road170km. Three gas resistance flameout failures occurred during driving. In order to accurately measure the fuel consumption of a car for 100 kilometers, the fuel tank is removed and dumped, and the fuel is measured with a cup. 4. Cause analysis: After checking the vehicle, two problems were found: ① The exhaust valve of the fuel tank was blocked. ② The supply of engine oil exceeds demand. In order to solve the problem of air resistance, the owner connected an electric fuel pump in series in the fuel pipeline.

5. Solution: ① dredge the exhaust valve of the fuel tank; ② Dismantle the series electric oil pump and replace the ablated distributor platinum; ③ Clean the carburetor and adjust the ignition time and combustible mixture.

6. Road test results: After the vehicle is checked and adjusted, it will be driven by the unit driver, and the road test will be carried out along the sections such as the North Ring Road and the Yellow River tourist area. The road test adopts two-cycle comparison, that is, measuring ordinary gasoline and ethanol gasoline for one cycle each 100 km. Even the on-board reporter can't tell the difference between the two kinds of fuel power.

After the blockage in the oil pipe is removed, the oil pipe is unblocked and the vehicle starts.

3. Cause analysis: Because the blockage in the fuel pipe of this vehicle is the impurity in the fuel tank, it is considered that the fuel tank of this vehicle is not clean, and it was not cleaned before adding ethanol gasoline.

4. Solution: When adding ethanol gasoline for the first time, it is very necessary to clean, inspect and clean the fuel tank of the vehicle, especially for vehicles with long service life. In order to prevent the automobile oil circuit from being blocked by impurities again, the owner has been advised to clean the oil tank as soon as possible to ensure that the oil circuit is clean and smooth.

Three, oil water content exceeds bid fault example

Although the pump can run after being connected to the power supply, the pump oil pressure is low, which belongs to natural wear and tear damage. ② According to the analysis of the decomposed internal structural components, the pump is a gear pump with a principle structure, and no corrosive parts or easily corrosive rubber parts or plastic parts are found.
