What does "keep one word and nine" mean? "Jiuding" refers to which Jiuding?

Some people say, "If you want to be respected, you have to keep your word." The implication is that you must keep your promise to get respect. But this is actually wrong. Why do you say that? Because keeping your mouth shut is keeping your mouth shut. Metaphor is powerful and can play a great role. Only respected and capable people can keep their promises. It is impossible for a person who is not respected. This is why people talk lightly. Similarly, people often regard "keeping one word and nine sentences" as a synonym for honesty, which is actually inappropriate.

"Keep your word" and "self-recommendation" come from the same allusion. According to legend, during the Warring States Period, a guest of the State of Zhao called himself an envoy of the State of Chu, which made him famous. Ping Yuanjun once said with emotion: "When Mr. Mao arrived in Chu, Zhao was more important than Jiuding Road." Its original intention is to praise Mao Sui's eloquence. It can be extended to describe someone who is highly respected, speaks with weight, and works well. But it doesn't mean that you are honest and trustworthy, and you can't use it for yourself, otherwise it will become bragging.

According to legend, Dayu controlled water and divided China into Kyushu, named Jizhou, Yanzhou, Qingzhou, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Jingzhou, Yuzhou, Liangzhou and Yongzhou. Jiuding is made of bronze from Kyushu, and the famous mountains, rivers and wonders of Kyushu are engraved on Jiuding. Therefore, Jiuding is named after states, namely butyl, Ding Yan, Ding Qing, Xuding, Ding Yang, Ding Jing, Ding Yu, Ding Liang and Yongding.

Dayu concentrated Jiuding in the capital of Xia Dynasty. So Jiuding became synonymous with China, and became a symbol of supremacy of kingship, national unity and prosperity. Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties were regarded as national treasures symbolizing state power.

Chu Zhuangwang Xionglv in the Spring and Autumn Period and Qin Wuwang Kongdang in the Warring States Period both won the Central Plains. On the surface, it is the top priority, but in fact it is peeking at the Zhou royal family and wants to replace it. The difference is that Chu Zhuangwang succeeded in becoming one of the five tyrants in the Spring and Autumn Period, while Qin Wuwang died of injury. Come to think of it, showing muscles is not as good as showing IQ.

If a person can withstand the praise of "keeping one word and nine", it must be a successful person with small achievements.
