Excuse me: Can water snakes be autotrophic? How to support yourself? Is it growing fast? Thank you very much

Water snakes are a variety of "big families", including Chinese water snakes and lead water snakes. However, people are used to classifying semi-aquatic red-spotted golden snake, white-striped golden snake, double-spotted golden snake (dry water snake) and pink-chain swimming snake into water snake "family".

Artificial breeding of water snakes has the advantages of low cost, high survival rate and wide source of prey. Because water snakes have strong adaptability to preconditions such as temperature, humidity and breeding environment, they can be introduced as long as they can meet the general snake breeding conditions. This kind of snake has a pungent smell, is easy to manage and has a variety of eating habits. Compared with other snakes, it is not dangerous, so it is especially suitable for farmers who raise snakes for the first time or have little money. Let's talk about the main breeding techniques of water snakes.

I. Water source

Water snake, as its name implies, is a snake with aquatic or semi-aquatic habits. Therefore, the arrangement of water sources in aquaculture is a key. In the season when water snakes are active, keep the water source adequate and clean. In midsummer, the pond should be thoroughly cleaned and descaled every 7 ~ 15 days to avoid enteritis caused by water snakes drinking unclean water and causing undue trouble.

Second, the food source

Besides eating all kinds of freshwater fish and loach, water snakes especially like Monopterus albus and frogs. We should feed water snakes on time according to their easy catching season or fattening situation, and try to diversify the feeding types to meet the needs of their physical growth. Most water snakes have a strong appetite and feed every 4-5 days. Generally, a water snake weighing about 100 ~ 200g can swallow 1 ~ 2 small miscellaneous fish at a time, up to 3 ~ 4 at most. In addition, the water snake is particularly courageous, and if someone is around when swallowing, it will not affect eating. After eating, snakes, like other snakes, have the habit of lying still. At this time, don't disturb it too much, or you will spit out the swallowed food. This is bound to delay the next feeding time and reduce the amount of food it should eat, which is extremely unfavorable to the growth of water snakes. We should artificially reduce the number of visits or refuse to visit strangers.

Third, disinfection.

The culture density of artificially cultured water snakes should be 12 ~ 15 per square meter, and the three-dimensional culture can be appropriately larger, but it should not exceed 2 times. Under normal feeding conditions, it should be disinfected 2 ~ 3 times a month, and it can be sprayed or splashed with water. When disinfecting, it is best to choose early morning or evening. Because most water snakes like to move during the day, they especially like to get together and bask in the sun after eating. When the outside temperature reaches above 32℃, I especially like to soak in the water in groups, and I can stay in the water for a long time as long as my head is slightly exposed. Therefore, during disinfection, the peak period of outdoor activities of water snakes should be avoided to avoid undue interference and shock.

Living in a suitable environment, water snakes rarely get sick and die, which is the lowest mortality rate among artificially cultured snakes at present, which is also the main reason why they can reproduce spontaneously in the wild. Therefore, it is suggested that the original snake farm (household) may wish to switch to raising snakes and occupy one market as soon as possible.
