History of Weinan Railway Station
Weinan Railway Station is an old station with a long history established with the construction of Longhai Line. Built in 1933 (22 years of the Republic of China), the original site is at the northern end of Jiefang Road. The name plaque of the station was inscribed by Gu Yu 1934 (23rd year of the Republic of China), carved with white marble and embedded in the box office wall at the upper end of the canopy. After the founding of New China, due to the decision-making mistakes caused by the construction of Sanmenxia Reservoir, in the name of so-called "combat readiness", the Longhai Line was rerouted along the southern part of Weinan City, and a new Weinan Railway Station was built at the southern end of Qianjin Road. The original station site was changed to Weinan Railway Station freight yard, and the new station building now used was built in the mid-1990s.
With the development of Weinan city, the freight yard of the old railway station has also moved to a new position. The old railway station officially stopped using at the beginning of 20 10, and the old railway station officially entered history. The old box office has been listed as the scope of cultural relics protection by the cultural relics department, and a leisure square bearing the history of Weinan will be built here.
