The new food safety law came into effect on June 1.
New rules of supermarket docking, food "packaging" and "pasting"
In June of 1, the new Food Safety Law was formally implemented, replacing the Food Hygiene Law which had been implemented for 13 years. The Food Hygiene Law greatly strengthens the supervision of food safety from the aspects of production and sales, and a considerable number of provisions put forward new requirements for the operation mode of supermarkets. At present, many large supermarkets in Haikou have begun to train their employees, adjust the food management process and layout, and pre-package and label bulk food according to the requirements of the new regulations. However, there are still many problems in the packaging and labeling of promotional food, and people in the industry remind consumers to choose carefully.
"Safety" replaces "hygiene", and the new regulations support "one loses ten"
The new regulations have new requirements for bulk and homemade food in supermarkets, which has been criticized for a long time: bulk and homemade food in supermarkets should be properly prepackaged and marked with information such as name, specification, net content, production date, ingredients and shelf life. Especially some homemade cooked food, the shelf life is only one or two days, and it will be destroyed after the shelf life. Therefore, even for bulk food, consumers should pay attention to the relevant information of food labels, and don't buy "three noes" bulk food without producer, production date and shelf life.
The new regulations also increase penalties for producing food that does not meet food safety standards or selling food that is known to fail to meet safety standards. In addition to claiming damages, consumers can also claim compensation of 10 times the price from producers or sellers.
Shi Jing, manager of customer service department of Guoxing Store in RT Mart Supermarket, said that recently, the head office asked its subordinate supermarkets to pay special attention to the implementation of the new regulations of "one for ten" to cooperate with the implementation of the new law.
Take the initiative to connect with the new regulations and bid farewell to the "three noes" of bulk food in supermarkets
Reporters visited RT Mart, Carrefour, Wangjiawang and other large supermarkets on the 29th, and found that most unpackaged foods such as homemade cooked food, cakes and raw meat were put in special heating or refrigeration cabinets, which were selected by consumers through glass and weighed by staff wearing masks. Next to these bulk foods, they are generally the same kind of prepackaged foods, and the packaging is labeled with the date of production and shelf life.
The label of bulk food has also changed to some extent than before. Only the simple labels of commodity names and prices have been significantly reduced, and some supermarkets have introduced new labels, adding a variety of information such as production date, shelf life, manufacturer, storage conditions, etc. Some supermarkets add a small label to the original simple big label, indicating all kinds of information required by the new regulations.
Supermarkets also have "dead ends", and there are many problems in promoting goods.
The reporter visited the major supermarkets in Haikou and found that although most supermarkets actively took measures to meet the new regulations, there were still many "dead ends". Some bulk foods are not equipped with corresponding sanitary conditions, there is no production date, and there is no destruction record in the cabinet. These problems are most concentrated on the promotion of bulk food.
In the dry goods area of a supermarket on Haifu Road, the dried shrimps under the signboard of promotion and profit-making are still "naked for sale", and they are not put into cabinets or covered with dust covers like other dry goods. There are flies hovering nearby from time to time, and there is no production date and shelf life on the big promotion label. A woman walked by, grabbed it, sniffed it close to her nose and threw it back.
According to insiders, promotional foods should meet the requirements of sanitary conditions like general bulk foods, and it is best to prepackage or sell them in cabinets. Some promotional foods are often foods near the shelf life. Consumers should pay more attention to the information on food labels, find out the production date and shelf life, and then buy carefully.
