Introduction of Linglong-1

Linglong-1 (ACP 100), the world's first onshore commercial modular small reactor, is a multifunctional modular small pressurized water reactor with independent intellectual property rights independently developed by China National Nuclear Corporation, which is another major independent innovation achievement after Hualong-1.

2021July 13, the world's first onshore commercial modular reactor "Linglong No.1" (ACP 100) was officially started at Changjiang Nuclear Power Base in Hainan. On February 26, 2022, the lower cylinder of the world's first steel containment vessel "Linglong No.1" was successfully hoisted in place at Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Base. On September 2, 20231day, the 85T hook of the world's first reactor of Hainan Nuclear Power "Linglong No.1" completed all load tests, meeting the available conditions.

This kind of reactor adopts the design concept of "inherent safety+passive safety". To this end, the design team has built the largest comprehensive test-bed of passive safety system in Asia, which can technically realize the need for off-site emergency intervention and fully verify the flexibility and safety of Linglong-1.

Value meaning

Linglong-1 Small Reactor will promote the high-level development of China's nuclear energy-related industrial clusters and form another important reactor brand, which is of great significance for opening up the international small reactor market and realizing the strategic goal of going global.

"Linglong No.1" has advanced innovative technologies such as miniaturization, modularization and integration, and has the advantages of high security, good flexibility and wide application. It can meet the demand of seawater desalination while supplying power, and is suitable for urban regional heating and industrial heating, remote areas, mining areas, islands and high energy-consuming enterprises.

"Linglong No.1" is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026, with an annual power generation of 654.38 billion kWh, which can meet the electricity demand of about 520,000 households in Hainan Province.
