Second, the legal characteristics of Solon's reform:
1. Abolish debt slavery;
2. Abolish the cruel laws enacted by delacour and only keep the part about murder;
3. Divide citizens into four classes according to their property, and their political power depends on their property;
4. Restore the citizens' assembly as the highest organ of state power, and citizens from all walks of life can participate;
5. Set up a conference management country of 400 people outside the aristocratic conference, and all the first three citizens can be selected;
6. Establish a citizen jury court, in which citizens with or without property can participate.
Third, the role:
It laid the democratic foundation of Athens, promoted the development of industry and commerce, adjusted the interest relationship between different classes in the citizens' collective, and ensured the economic, political and social status of small and medium-sized owners engaged in their own labor.
It shook the aristocratic autocracy and laid the foundation of city-state democracy. It paved the way for the revival and prosperity of Athens city-state. Solon reform greatly promoted the development of agriculture and industry and commerce, and Athens soon became the most prosperous industrial and commercial city in ancient Greece.
