Excuse me, what is "producer services"?

"Producer service industry" refers to the service industry that provides guarantee services for maintaining the continuity of industrial production process, promoting industrial technological progress, industrial upgrading and improving production efficiency.

1975, American economists Browning and Singerman put forward the concept of producer service for the first time when they classified the service industry. Generally speaking, the so-called producer service industry is the supporting service industry directly related to the manufacturing industry. It is a new industry developed independently from the production and service departments within the manufacturing industry. Its main function is to provide service products for different stages of the production process. It runs through the upstream, midstream and downstream links of enterprise production, including logistics, research and development, information, intermediary, finance and insurance and trade-related services.

At present, producer service industry is still in the stage of further discussion and accelerated development in China, and there is no unified conclusion on its scope and system definition. Based on the research results of various aspects, we believe that producer services generally include the following five aspects: modern logistics, science and technology services, finance and insurance, information services and business services (including consulting, agency, advertising, training, labor intermediary and some factor markets).
