Henan Art Vocational College was established with the approval of the people's government of Henan Province on the basis of three schools: Henan Art School, Henan Film and Television School and Henan Culture and Art Cadre School, so it recruits graduates from ordinary high schools, secondary art schools and vocational high schools.

In view of the fact that the renaming of Zhongyuan College of Culture and Art needs the approval of the Ministry of Education, the name of Henan Vocational College of Art will be temporarily used after the merger of the two schools. The newly established Henan Vocational College of Art has two campuses, No.2 Xishan Road, Huiji District, Zhengzhou City and No.79 Wenhua Road, Jinshui District, with a total area of 684 mu, a building area of 1.23 million square meters, teaching and experimental equipment worth 26 million yuan, and a library of 333,000 books.
The college focuses on cultivating advanced practical talents in cultural industry management, artistic creation and practice, radio, film and television media, etc. There are 12 teaching departments (departments), 23 majors (including majors) and 5800 full-time students.
