Professional training requirements: students in this major mainly study the basic theories and knowledge of geographic information system, cartography and remote sensing technology, and train in scientific thinking and scientific experiments in applied basic research and technology development. They only have good scientific literacy, basic skills in research, design and development of geographic information systems, and preliminary teaching, research, development and management capabilities.
Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:
1. Master the basic theories and knowledge of mathematics, physics and computer science;
2. Master the basic theories, knowledge and experimental skills of GIS and cartography, as well as the basic principles and methods of GIS technology development;
3. Understand the general principles and methods of geography, resources and environment, urban and rural planning and management, surveying and mapping engineering and other adjacent majors.
