High-tech Zone is adjacent to Ningbo Deepwater Port in the east, Hangzhou-Ningbo expressway in the south, Ningbo downtown in the west and Hangzhou Bay Bridge in the north. It is an important carrier for Ningbo to build an innovative city and a scientific and technological innovation base in the south wing of the Yangtze River Delta. It has successively introduced 145 scientific and technological research and development institutions such as Institute of Materials of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ningbo Branch of Academy of Military Sciences, Ningbo Zhongke Integrated Circuit Design Center, Ningbo Microsoft Technology Center and TRW Asia-Pacific Technology Center. It has gathered more than 2,000 enterprises such as Sanyo in Japan, Eaton in the United States, IMP Microelectronics in Bank of Japan, Upspectrum Optoelectronics and Yongxin Optics. High-level "incubators" with a total area of 250,000 square meters, such as Ningbo Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Center and Zhejiang University Science and Technology Innovation Center, were built, and 28,000 scientific and technological talents were introduced. A digital eco-tech new city with convenient transportation, smooth information, perfect facilities, complete functions, abundant talents and beautiful environment has been built.
