Name source
Yanguanyakou, the county seat, is the origin of Zitong Street. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a salt inspection station was set up here to inspect the past salt boats, and people set up shop here. 170 1 year (the 40th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty), rebuilt temples, decorated statues, offered sacrifices to Wenchang and built a town named Zitong Town, which was subordinate to Suining. At the beginning of the People's Republic of China, it was renamed as Chengguan Town, 198 1 restored Zitong's original name. The Giant Buddha and Xiaxian Dam in the territory are ancient county sites. In 398, Suining County was newly established here, and in 708, Suining County was established. 1282 was abolished after it was merged into Xiaoxi County (now Suining Central District).
