Moxi Town is a local town, 53 kilometers away from Luding County. "Moxi" is an ancient Qiang language, which means "treasure land". It is located between green mountains and green waters. This area is about 1.600 meters above sea level, mainly inhabited by Han, Yi, Tibetan and other 12 ethnic groups, with four distinct seasons.
1705 Before the completion of Luding Bridge, it was an important town on the ancient road leading to Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou Tibetan areas. The streets of the town are only 10 meters wide and 400 meters long, but they are quite distinctive. This town is important mainly because it is the only place to go to Hailuogou, and the gate of the scenic spot is located in the town, so visitors to Hailuogou must stay here for one night, so there are many hotels and restaurants in the town to meet the needs of tourists.
There is also a Catholic church in this town, which is only famous for staying here for one night when Mao Zedong passed by on the Long March. The majestic snow-capped mountains, beautiful rural scenery, rich ethnic customs, quaint streets, French church buildings, Tibetan hotels and wooden houses in Chuandou constitute the most beautiful scenery in Moxi Town.
