Brief introduction of Pingtong River
Pingtong River is a first-class tributary of Fujiang River, also known as Xiaohe, Qingyi River, Lianshui, Rangshui, Yongcun River and Bajia River, and it is the second largest tributary of Fujiang River. Located in the mountainous area on the northwest edge of Sichuan Basin. It rises at the junction of Pingwu County, Songpan County and Beichuan County, with the highest elevation of 3,326 m, and flows southeast through Suojiang, Yinda Town and Doukou Town, southwest through Guixi in Pingtong Town, and south into Fujiang in Zhangming Town. The total area of the whole basin is 1.299 square kilometers, the total length of the river is 1.23 kilometers, the natural drop is 2300 meters, with an average gradient of 6.59‰, the average annual flow is 25.5 cubic meters per second, and the average annual runoff is 804 million cubic meters.
