Shangqiu Institute of Technology is a local and applied provincial-level private undergraduate college with coordinated development of engineering, management, economy, education, art and medicine. The school was established in April of 1994, 20 1 1. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, Shangqiu Institute of Technology was established on the basis of the former Shangqiu Vocational College of Science and Technology, and full-time undergraduate education was implemented.
As of May 2023, the school covers an area of 1 0,970.60 mu, with a building area of 77,8631.24 square meters. The school has more than 65,438 faculty members, including 2 1697 full-time college students.
There are 2,069,000 paper books in the library and 82 laboratories on campus. At present, there are 32 undergraduate majors and 0/6 specialist majors/kloc-,forming a discipline and specialty system with engineering as the mainstay and the coordinated development of engineering, management, economics, teaching, literature and medicine.
The school has 9 teaching colleges (departments) including Mechanical Engineering College, Civil Engineering College, Information and Electronic Engineering College, Economic Management College, Education and Modern Art College, Medical College, Ideological and Political Theory Teaching Department, Basic Teaching Department and Physical Education Department.
There are 28 undergraduate majors, including 9 brand majors in private colleges and universities in Henan Province, 3 pilot colleges and universities in Henan Province, 3 specialty majors in Henan Province/KLOC-0 and 3 key disciplines in Henan Province. Mechanical engineering, civil engineering, business administration and North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower jointly train graduate students.
The school pays attention to the role of scientific research in promoting professional construction. In the past three years, school teachers have presided over 75 scientific research projects, won scientific research achievement awards 16 above the municipal level, published 689 academic papers, obtained 85 national patents, and published books/textbooks 174 volumes.
