Tanzania issued a plastic ban in May this year, explicitly prohibiting the import and manufacture of plastic bags. It is closely related to everyone. When you rush to Tanzania, be careful not to carry plastic bags in your hand luggage and checked baggage.

On May 23rd, the Office of the Vice President of Tanzania officially released the law enforcement guide for Tanzania's plastic ban:

1. "Plastic Prohibition Order" inspection places include shops, markets, supermarkets, warehouses, immigration offices, factories and other places where plastic bags are sold.

2 inspectors must show their law enforcement certificates before law enforcement.

3. Inspectors are not allowed to open the pedestrian bag at will on the road to check whether there are plastic bags.

4. Inspectors shall not enter residential areas for inspection or stop for inspection on the road.

5. If any vehicle is found with prohibited plastic bags during the inspection for other reasons, the inspector may impose penalties such as confiscation and fines according to relevant laws and regulations.

6. Once anyone is found to use, sell or store the banned plastic bags, the plastic bags will be confiscated on the spot and fined. Those who fail to pay the fine within the specified time will be prosecuted.

7. The inspector shall issue a formal invoice to the person who pays the fine.

8 inspectors should strictly abide by the law enforcement norms, and it is strictly forbidden to violently enforce the law or detain illegal personnel.

9. Those who resist law enforcement and repeatedly violate the law will be punished with more severe punishment such as detention according to law.

Tanzania, with a land area of over 940,000 square kilometers and a population of about 53.5 million, is a world-famous tourist attraction. Located in eastern Africa, the country is rich in tourism resources: there are Serengeti plains, and the annual animal migration scene is spectacular; Kilimanjaro, known as the roof of Africa, and Ngorongro crater, known as the Garden of Eden in Africa; Selous game reserve, the largest game reserve in Africa; There are also Zanzibar's mysterious spice islands and countless other scenic spots, and a large number of inbound tourists visit Tanzania every year.

The announcement urges all foreigners going to Tanzania not to carry hand-held plastic bags or pack things with hand-held plastic bags when they arrive in Tanzania, otherwise they will be required to hand in the relevant plastic bags when entering the country. Zipper-sealed plastic bags specially used for toiletries are allowed to enter the country, but they are not allowed to be discarded or disposed of in Tanzania.
