Motor vehicle safety technical inspection shall be conducted by the motor vehicle safety technical inspection institution. Motor vehicle safety and technical inspection institutions shall inspect motor vehicles in accordance with the national standards for motor vehicle safety and technical inspection, and bear legal responsibility for the inspection results. The quality and technical supervision department is responsible for the metrological certification management of motor vehicle safety technical inspection institutions, the verification of motor vehicle safety technical inspection equipment, and the supervision of the implementation of national motor vehicle safety technical inspection standards.
