How to do lymphography?

Lymphangiography is a simple, safe and reliable diagnostic method for detecting lymph node lesions. It can observe the internal structure of lymph nodes, find small lesions in lymph nodes without expanding them, and distinguish benign reactive lymphadenopathy from lymph node tumors. The following two methods are often used:

Lymphangiography of lower limbs: dye was injected subcutaneously between the toes 1 and 2, then the skin was cut to expose the stained lymphatic vessels, and organic iodine contrast agent was injected. Photographs were taken at 12 and 24 hours after injection to develop the lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes of lower limbs, pelvis and retroperitoneum. This method is helpful for the diagnosis of lymph node metastasis and chyluria in penile cancer, bladder cancer and prostate cancer.

Spermatic lymphangiography: inject a proper amount of contrast agent through the spermatic lymphatic vessels with a fine needle, increase or decrease the injection dose according to the thickness of the lymphatic vessels, take the first film when injecting 2ml, and then take one film every 30 seconds, making a total of 7 films. This method can display paraaortic lymph nodes of 1 and 2 lumbar vertebrae. This group of lymph nodes is the first stop of lymphatic metastasis of testicular tumor, so it is mostly used for patients with testicular tumor resection.
