Mr. Ma is one of the main founders and has been employed by the Group since 1999. Before taking up his present post, Mr. Ma was responsible for the research and development of Internet paging system in Shenzhen Runxun Communication Development Co., Ltd., a telecom service and product provider in China. Mr. Ma obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Application from Shenzhen University on 1993, and has more than 10 years of experience in the telecommunications and Internet industries.
Liu Chiping: President.
Liu Chiping joined Tencent in 2005 and became the company's chief strategic investment officer, responsible for the company's strategy, investment, mergers and acquisitions and investor relations. In February 2006, he was appointed as the president of Tencent, assisting Mr. Ma, Chairman and CEO of the Board of Directors, and taking charge of the daily management and operation of the company. In March 2007, he was appointed as an executive director. Mr. Liu used to be the executive director of the Asia Investment Banking Department of Goldman Sachs and the chief operating officer of the telecommunications, media and technology industry group. Zhang Zhidong, the executive director and chief technology officer of the Company, is fully responsible for the development of the Group's proprietary technologies, including the development of basic instant messaging platforms and large-scale online application systems. Mr. Zhang is one of the main founders of the Group and has been employed by the Group since 1999. Before taking up his current position, Mr. Zhang worked in Shenzhen Liming Network Co., Ltd., mainly responsible for the research and development of software and network application systems. Mr. Zhang obtained a bachelor of science degree in computer and application from Shenzhen University on 1993 and a master's degree in computer application and system architecture from South China University of Technology on 1996. Mr. Zhang has more than eight years of experience in the telecommunications and Internet industries.
