My rental career began with graduation.
Although the internship salary is still very low, I don't want to share it. Four years' dormitory life in college has made me deeply excluded from living in groups: among other things, living habits and the rhythm of work and rest are the two most basic reasons that make me decide to live alone.
The first house I rented was a resettlement house. Although it looks much worse than the surrounding commercial houses, it at least meets my basic requirements: quiet, with trees and plenty of sunshine. I remember when I first moved in, the landlord left me a sofa with a dent in the middle, a brown wooden desk, a computer desk with rusty legs, a wardrobe without a door, a hard wooden bed and an old color TV that can only watch local TV forever. On the first day of my new home, I wandered around in soapy water, rags, trash cans, mops and brooms. From 9: 00 a.m. to 8: 00 p.m., the house finally looks like a home: it's a little humble, but simple and tidy.
After a day or two of recovery, I began to wonder how to use the least money to turn this house into the home I want in the shortest time. So, I spent a week doing these things: I bought a pot of blooming jasmine from the florist I met on my way home and raised it on the balcony. I like the energetic look at home; Placing college plaid sheets on the sofa with the furniture in the living room is simple and fresh; The bay window of the bedroom was intended to put a small cushion and a small folding table. I'm going to relax, make a cup of tea, read a book quietly and let the sunshine sneak in through the window. There are too many books, which can only be piled up; I found a vintage vase and a handful of dried flowers on the Internet and put them on an unnecessary old color TV. There are not many things, and the transformation is far from perfect, just a little more color, a little more vitality and a simple and beautiful look. Usually go home from work, there is a soft sofa to give you a warm hug; Go into the kitchen and cook a nutritious dinner to replenish energy; After dinner, you can lie on the balcony and look at the dim lights in the distance; Turn on the computer, watch your favorite movies and play some soothing music; Finally, I took a hot bath and plunged into my soft little bed, holding a lot of dolls and sleeping with my eyes closed. Weekend, cleaning, gathering, cooking, staring blankly, watching movies, flipping through books.
In this way, week after week, month after month, year after year, the years are quiet and calm.
So that later, whether in Chengdu or Shenzhen, although I have been renting a house, I have been living very seriously: wherever I go, I will inevitably feel like a monk. Friends around me often say to me, why should the rented house be so good? After all, it's someone else's house, not your own. If it's your own, you can do this. I have never refuted it, simply insisting that the house is rented, but the home can be built by itself. Why should I cling to this house? Is it my corner?
The house is just a cold space, and the meaning given to it is for everyone who seriously loves life. The house can be rented again, and life can't be repeated. Since life is so short, today's self deserves to live a little warmer, have a home and live up to the fleeting time.
