A Brief Introduction to the Author of Chinese Artist

About the author: Li, a native of Guangdong, was born in a scholarly family. His father, Li Yanshan, was a famous Lingnan painter, calligrapher and poet in 1930s and 1940s, and was known as the "master of landscape painting". Influenced by his father, Li has laid a solid foundation for China's traditional art and culture since childhood. 1953 Li graduated from the Department of Architectural Engineering, Institute of Technology, Sun Yat-sen University. He has worked in architectural design, urban design and interior design in Shenyang, Beijing, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Guangzhou.

For many years, Mr. Li has devoted himself to studying the architectural design tradition in China, making long-term field visits to eastern and western buildings and browsing Chinese and foreign architectural classics. He used the western architectural design theories and methods for reference, inherited the genre of China ancient books, comprehensively expounded and analyzed China traditional architecture from the viewpoint and vocabulary of modern architectural technology, and verified that China has had architectural and planning theories with China national characteristics since ancient times, many of which were unique or initiated by China and were in a leading position in the world. Furthermore, it is fully affirmed that China's classical architectural design concept is the crystallization of China's long history and culture, and it is also a treasure in the world's architectural culture and art. The China Artist summarizes the design principles of China's classical architecture, puts forward his own views on China's classical architectural culture, refutes the arrogant and narrow academic views of a few westerners, criticizes the westernization tendency of some China "scholars" who lack national self-confidence, and from time to time reveals a scholar's love for the motherland and pride in excellent national culture.
