What are the characteristics of Han silk paintings unearthed from Mawangdui 1 and No.3 tombs in Changsha, Hunan Province?
Two silk paintings with coffins unearthed from Mawangdui 1 and No.3 tombs are T-shaped with wide upper parts. The drooping four corners have spikes, and the top is tied up, which should be used as a banner for funeral. The picture is divided into three parts from top to bottom, representing heaven, earth and underground respectively: in the sky, the sun, the moon, the stars, the dragon, the snake god and so on. In the human part, the daily life of the tomb owner is like traveling, feasting, offering sacrifices, living, dancing, concierge, etc. In the underground part, there are aquatic animals such as monsters, dragons, snakes and big fish, which are mostly "evoking souls to heaven" or "evoking souls".
