The Foreign Language School affiliated to Tianjin Foreign Studies University (Tianjin Foreign Language School, affectionately called "Xiaowai" by Tianjin residents) was founded in 1964, and it is one of the first seven foreign language schools in China. It is the only full-time boarding middle school in Tianjin with distinctive foreign language characteristics issued by the Ministry of Education for many times. Now it is a school directly under the municipal government, the first batch of demonstration schools and the vice-principal school of the National Foreign Language School.
The former chairman, the translator of the Prime Minister and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ji, served as honorary chairman. The training goal of the school is to cultivate compound and international preparatory talents with both ability and political integrity, equal emphasis on arts and sciences, outstanding foreign languages and all-round development. The school offers five foreign languages: English, Japanese, German, French and Spanish. Each student has one or two foreign languages and is bilingual.
Introduction to Tianjin:
Tianjin began with the opening of the Grand Canal. At the intersection of the South Canal and the North Canal, which is now the Sanchahekou of Jingang Bridge, it is known as the "Sanhui Haikou" in history and is the earliest birthplace of Tianjin. After the mid-term, Tianjin became a land and water terminal for transporting grain from south to north. The Jin Dynasty set up "Zhigu Village" in Zhigu, and the Yuan Dynasty set up "Haijin Town", which was a military town and a water transportation center. In the ninth year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty (AD 1652), the three guards were integrated and merged into Tianjin Guard. From the second year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1404) to A.D. 20 18, Tianjin was founded in 6 14 years. 1860 After Tianjin was turned into a trading port, western powers set up concessions in Tianjin one after another, and Tianjin became the frontier of China's northern opening in modern times and the base of China's Westernization Movement.
