Fengcheng, formerly known as Phoenix, belongs to Dandong City, Liaoning Province. Located in the eastern part of Liaodong Peninsula, near the north shore of the Yellow Sea, it is a county-level city under provincial jurisdiction. Fengcheng city is adjacent to Benxi Manchu Autonomous County in the north, Zhen 'an District and donggang city in Dandong City in the south, and Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County in the east.

Fengcheng area belongs to the hilly landform type of Liaodong Mountain, and the northern part is erosive structural landform above 1000 meters above sea level. The middle part is a hilly region with moderate cutting, which belongs to the stage landform with decreasing structure in turn. Fengcheng city belongs to a humid continental monsoon climate zone with four distinct seasons. The annual average temperature is 7.9℃, the average maximum temperature 14℃, and the average minimum temperature is 2.6℃. Maximum frost-free period 173 days, minimum 138 days, and average frost-free period 156 days.

Fengcheng Mountain is densely forested and rich in wild resources.
