General situation of Shantou University College of Literature

The College of Arts is one of the nine colleges in Shantou University. In 2009, with the strong support of school leaders and Li Ka-shing Foundation, in addition to six teaching and research units, including China Language and Literature Department, Foreign Language and Literature Department, New Sinology Research Center, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and Overseas Chinese Literature Research Center, Chaoshan Culture Research Center, Chinese Language and Culture College (Chinese Training Center) and English Language and Culture College of Shantou University, Shantou University Overseas Examination Center, Women's Studies Center, Global Studies Center (formerly International Studies Center) and Christian Studies Center were established, and BEC and TOEFL exams were organized to study English language, literature and culture. Domestic and foreign experts were hired to offer a series of courses for undergraduates, and undergraduate and graduate students were organized to carry out social welfare activities.

20 10 September, the humanities and general education base and the language and translation base were established. There are 34 teachers with senior titles and 38 teachers with intermediate titles 10, including 38 doctors and masters. China modern and contemporary literature, Chinese philology, literature and art, China ancient literature, English language and literature.

/kloc-since 0/983, the College of Liberal Arts has enrolled undergraduates majoring in Chinese language and literature and English. In 2009, it enrolled 4,682 students (including junior college students). Teaching Chinese as a foreign language is a newly approved undergraduate enrollment major by the Ministry of Education, and undergraduates were officially enrolled on 20 10.

The College of Literature recruits graduate students from five directions: modern and contemporary literature in China, Chinese language and literature, literature and art, ancient literature in China and English language and literature. By 2009, the College of Liberal Arts had enrolled 232 graduate students, and there are 86 at present.
