Why did the king of Qin kill Fan?

First of all, Fan is not Huan Kun. These are two different people. Anyone who thinks that Fan was defeated and defected to the State of Yan, such as the history of the Warring States, or who mixed his deeds and identity, such as the draft history of Qin, was taken from unofficial history or wrongly written, which is not credible.

There are few records about Fan in the official history. Only Historical Records and Biography of Assassins talk about Jing Ke. The original words are "General Fan of Qin offended the king of Qin, and the prince was abandoned", which means that General Fan of Qin fled to Yan State because of offending the king of Qin and was taken in by Yan Taizi Dan. The king of Qin here is Ying Zheng, which has not yet unified the whole country.

We are familiar with Van Yuqi, who came from Jing Ke to stab the King of Qin. In order to have a chance to meet the king of Qin, Jing Ke took a head as a gift. This head is the person that the king of Qin hates-Fan. Van Yuqi committed suicide to help Jing Ke assassinate the king of Qin. The picture shows a stone painting in which Jing Ke stabbed the king of Qin in the Han Dynasty. In the first paragraph of the Draft of Qin History written by Mr. Wang, there are also such records: First, he wrote Huan to Yan, and the old man added a note saying that he could research the biographies of the first emperor and the Zhao family. In fact, in all the Qin and Han classics, there is no record that Huan Kun defected to Yan State, but it is puzzling that Fan defected to Yan State later. It turned out that Fan was a general of the State of Qin and fled to the State of Yan for offending the State of Qin.

The picture shows the portrait of Qin Shihuang. Therefore, according to official records, Fan offended the King of Qin and went to the State of Yan. Someone asked, didn't he say that he fled to Yan for fear of being punished? Yes, indeed, in the laws of Qin Jun, there are rewards for killing the enemy and penalties for failure. But there is no need to flee to other countries alone, leaving his parents, wife and children, including the whole clan, to be slaughtered by the king of Qin. Moreover, looking at the war history of Qin State, Qin State suffered many defeats and was punished, but it was not beheaded because of defeat. For example, in the war with the 8 Jin Army, Meng, Bai and Bai were defeated and the whole army was wiped out. They also rely on a woman to save them with beauty and be humiliated at home. Later, it was all right, and when I returned to China, I was reused, and I was quickly defeated by 8 Jin Army.

The picture shows the Lingta in Yixian Town, which is said to be built in memory of Fan, and there is Jing Ke Tower not far away. The general at the same time as Fan was defeated by the five-nation allied forces. Meng Ao is fine. He has been a general. At the same time, Li Xin was defeated in the battle with Chu. Ying Zheng didn't blame him. He continued to fight against Qi and Yan, so even if Fan was defeated, he wouldn't leave his family and run for his life alone. You can get information from Historical Records, Biography of Assassins and Van Yuqi.

Because of what happened, Fan couldn't take care of his family, so he had to flee alone. Fan and the King of Qin must be sworn enemies, because when Jing Ke tried to assassinate the King of Qin with Fan's head as a gift, Fan committed suicide without hesitation and contributed his own head. What happened that year, there is no record, and there is always only the sentence "Fan offended the king of Qin", and there is no clear answer.

If we have to find some clues, besides the official history, unofficial history's novels are also possible, and we can really find some interesting shadows. In chapter 103 of Biography of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty written by Feng Menglong at the end of Ming Dynasty, Uncle Li fought for power with Huang Xie, but Fan rebelled. No wonder, it's a pity that this is a novel, written more than 1000 years later.
