University of international business and economics, Shanghai, located in Shanghai, China, is a key university with industry characteristics, with six disciplines: economy, management, literature, law, science and engineering. It is the only foreign-related business university in East China. It was selected into the "20 1 1 Plan" and is known as the "cradle of international business elites".
Founded in 1960, the school was formed by the merger of the Foreign Trade Department of Shanghai International Studies University (the predecessor of Shanghai International Studies University), Shanghai Customs School and Shanghai Cadre School. It is an undergraduate university directly under the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (predecessor of the Ministry of Commerce).
The school has six disciplines: economics, management, literature, law and science and engineering, seven first-class disciplines, including applied economics, business administration, law, foreign languages and literature, theoretical economics, statistics and Marxist theory, 33 master's programs in two disciplines and nine professional master's degree awarding programs.
