Haikou, also known as "Coconut City", is a prefecture-level city and provincial capital under the jurisdiction of Hainan Province, a national "Belt and Road" strategic fulcrum city, a core city of Hainan Free Trade Port, an important node city of Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration and a third-tier city.
Haikou was selected by the World Health Organization as the first "World Healthy City" pilot in China. Haikou has the honorary titles of "China's charming city, China's happiest city, China's top ten beautiful living cities, China's most investment potential city, China's excellent tourist city, national historical and cultural city, national civilized city and national double-support model city".
By the end of 2022, the permanent population of Haikou City was 2,939,700. By the end of 2022 10, Haikou had four districts, namely xiuying district, Longhua District, qiongshan district and Meilan, 2 1 street, 22 towns, 21community and 248 administrative villages, and the Haikou Municipal People's Government was located at No.6 Dongsi Street, Changbin, xiuying district.
The topography of Haikou:
Haikou city is flat and has a slightly longer heart shape. Nandujiang is the longest river in Hainan Island, passing through the center of Haikou. The eastern part of Nandu River is slightly inclined from south to north, and the western part of Nandu River is inclined from north to south. It is high in the northwest and southeast, low along Nandu River in the middle, and mostly coastal plains in the north.
Except Ma 'anling in Shishan Town (222.8m above sea level), Jiuzhouling in Jiuzhou Town (199.9m above sea level), Riziling in Jiazi Town (17 1m above sea level) and Leihuling in Yongxing Town (168.3m above sea level). Ma 'anling is the highest point in this city.
The surface is mainly quaternary basic volcanic rocks and quaternary loose sediments, with a large distribution area. The coastal terrace landform is dominant, and the typical volcanic landform is dominant in the west. Urban landforms are basically divided into northern coastal plains, central areas along the Yangtze River, eastern and southern Taiwan Province areas, and western lava platform areas.
