Characteristics of Shanghai's geographical environment
Shanghai is located between east longitude120 52' and north latitude12212', covering an area of 6,340 square kilometers. It is located on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean, the eastern edge of the Asian continent, the midpoint between the north and south coasts of China and the confluence of the Yangtze River and Huangpu River. It borders the Yangtze River in the north, the East China Sea in the east, Hangzhou Bay in the south and Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in the west.
There are tianmashan, Xue Shan and Phoenix Mountain in the west. Tianmashan is the highest point on land, 99.8 meters above sea level. There is a stone tablet on the top of Sheshan Mountain. There are some rocky islands in the sea, such as Dajinshan, Xiaojinshan, Fushan Guishan, Sheshan Island and Xiaoyangshan Island.
