The fruit of the yellow heart tree is oval, with a length of1.1.4cm and a diameter of 6-7mm. The fruit peduncle is slightly thickened, and the persistent perianth is oval, leathery and compact, and both sides are pubescent or the outside is puberulent.
Growth environment of yellow heart tree
Yellow-hearted trees are born in sparse forests or dense forests on hillsides or valleys. Different slope positions have great influence on the growth of yellow-heart trees, and the downhill position is the best, followed by the middle slope position and the uphill position is the worst.
Chlorophyll content in leaf development and adult stage of yellow heart has a certain correlation with slope position, and decreases with the increase of slope position. The effects of different slope positions on the chlorophyll content of leaves during the development and adult stage of yellow heart leaves are uphill in the middle slope position and downhill in the slope position. In practical afforestation application, the yellow heart tree is more suitable for planting in the downhill or middle downhill position of gentle slope.
