He has worked in the macro-economy and important comprehensive departments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council for 30 years, participated in or presided over the drafting of a large number of important documents of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and important speeches of leading comrades of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, including participating in the drafting of political reports of the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th Central Plenary Sessions of our Party.
In 1980s and 1990s, and from 1999 to 20 12, he participated in the drafting of Premier the State Council's government work report for many years at the National People's Congress. Wei Liqun has been engaged in macroeconomic management, policy research and decision-making consultation for a long time, and participated in or was responsible for drafting a large number of important documents of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and speeches of leading comrades of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. According to incomplete statistics, in the past 30 years, he participated in or was responsible for drafting and revising more than 2,000 important manuscripts.
1988 was named researcher, part-time professor and doctoral supervisor of China Renmin University and Beijing Normal University; Member of the leading group of the national philosophy and social science planning and head of the applied economics group; Vice President of China Macroeconomics Society and Vice President of China Soft Science Society.
Wei Liqun presided over and organized a series of research work on major topics, including: Deng Xiaoping's economic theory system, the establishment and implementation of Scientific Outlook on Development, China's national conditions and modernization strategy, the establishment of a socialist market economic system, the prevention of national economic and financial risks, the transformation of economic growth mode, and the opening-up strategy. These major projects have achieved high-quality results. He insisted on finding time to write articles on the Party's principles and policies, and successively wrote monographs such as China's Economic Development and Reform, Building Socialism with Chinese characteristics's Economy, and Scientific Outlook on Development and Modernization. He presided over the compilation of more than 30 books. As a doctoral supervisor, he has trained more than 20 doctoral students.
