The predecessor of the college is Tingzhanglong Normal School, which was founded in 1905. In 2003, Longxi Normal School and Xiao Yun Normal School were merged into Zhangzhou Education College; In 2007, Zhangzhou Institute of Education was renamed as Zhangzhou City Vocational College.
