Brief introduction of Liandao beach attractions;
According to historical records, there used to be a Zhenhai Temple in Liandao, which was dedicated to the Tibetan Bodhisattva and sheltered the local fishermen. Later, due to disrepair, Zhenhai Temple was destroyed in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. With the approval of relevant departments, the management committee of Liandao Resort started the restoration and reconstruction of Zhenhai Temple last year. At first, the area completed the reconstruction of Jinsheng Temple, the lower hall of Zhenhai Temple, and built a 100-meter-long corridor pavilion. It is understood that the planning scheme of Zhenhai Temple has been completed, covering an area of 48 mu according to the plan, with a total investment of nearly 40 million yuan, and will be built halfway up the mountain above Shawancun Reservoir. Suma Bay, named after the beautiful legend of General Su Ziheng riding a horse and traveling with an eagle in the late Ming Dynasty, is the most famous tourist attraction in Liandao seaside resort. It integrates natural coastal landscapes such as Castle Peak, Blue Sea and Jin Tan with human landscapes such as seaports, huge dikes, fishing villages and ancient stone carvings. The annual "Lianyungang Summer" is held here, attracting tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country to spend the summer here. In the environmental monitoring of coastal bathing beaches issued by China National Environmental Monitoring Center, Sumawan Beach is listed as one of "15 bathing beaches with excellent water quality and the most suitable for swimming". In 2004, the newly-built Jinsheng Temple was completed in Sumawan Scenic Area, Liandao, Lianyungang, and a grand opening ceremony was held, adding a new tourist attraction to Sumawan.
