Chaoyang District is located in the east of Beijing, bordering Dongcheng District, Fengtai District and Haidian District in the west, Changping District and Shunyi District in the north, Tongzhou District in the east and Daxing District in the south. The whole area is 470.8 square kilometers, with an average elevation of 34 meters. It is the largest area in the suburbs of Beijing.
