The first phase of Yangshan Deepwater Port Area, which is about to start, consists of four parts: the port area, Donghai Bridge, hulu expressway and Luchao Port. The port project will build a wharf coastline of 1.600 m and five deep-water container berths, which can dock the fifth and sixth generation container ships, taking into account the berthing of 8,000 TEU container ships. The designed annual throughput is 2.2 million TEUs, and the land area is about 1.7 square kilometers. Donghai Bridge starts from the junction of the beach and the existing levee about 4km east of Luchaogang Passenger Terminal in Nanhui, with a backrest of about 1.4km, and ends at Zishan, a rugged island town in Shengsi County, Zhejiang Province, with a total length of 3 1km, of which the cross-sea part is 25km. Designed according to the two-way six-lane expressway standard, the bridge width is 31.5m. Hulu Expressway starts from A20 Highway (outer ring) in the north, ends at Donger Avenue interchange in the south, and reaches the landing point of Donghai Bridge, with a total length of 43km. Port New Town is an important part of Lu Chao Port's land support system. Taking the construction of deep-water port as an opportunity, the new city plans to build 90 square kilometers of land and a population of 300,000, and eventually it will be built into an ecological, information-based, developed port-facing industry, internationally accepted system and unique coastal garden city.
