What is information system integration? What is included?

Definition of information system integration: ways, methods, standards and technologies to realize information sharing, exchange and cooperation among various heterogeneous systems, applications and data sources.

Usually includes the following four aspects of integration:

Hardware (network) integration-using hardware devices to connect various subsystems.

Application (software) integration-the interaction between multiple heterogeneous systems

Information (data) integration-ensure the consistency of information in multiple systems.

Business (process) integration-business process integration across application systems

Extended data:

Because system integration needs to connect different products and equipment of different manufacturers, different networks and systems, the interface problem becomes the key point of information system implementation.

The main work of interface design generally includes hardware module interface, operating system interface, heterogeneous database interface, software development platform interface, man-machine interface and so on. Before system integration, we must first have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding and analysis of products, technologies and systems, and on this basis, we must have the ability to design and develop interfaces, so as to ensure the success of information systems.

Up to now, there is not a complete and mature set of norms and standards for information system integration, which requires engineering developers and scientific and technological workers to continue their research and exploration and formulate corresponding norms, processes and management methods for system integration.
