Product quality supervision and inspection center is the institution responsible for product quality inspection by the Municipal Inspection Institute. Its predecessor was Chongqing Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute, which was established in 1983 with a history of more than 20 years. The center consists of electrical testing room, light industry testing room, material testing room, anti-theft product quality supervision and inspection station, telephone product quality supervision and inspection station and other professional testing rooms, which are responsible for product (business) quality supervision and inspection, notarization inspection business, product quality appraisal, inspection service business, quality assurance business, technical consulting service, etc. To undertake quality disputes, arbitration inspection, product quality tracking inspection, new product identification inspection and pre-production quality inspection, production license product quality inspection and review entrusted by the court and industry and commerce, and accept various entrusted inspection services from the public. At present, the center has passed 1330 metrological certification inspection project and 582 laboratory accreditation inspection project. The food quality supervision and inspection center was established in September 2004 with the approval of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.
