Brief Introduction of School of Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology, Xi 'an University of Science and Technology

The first-level disciplines of surveying and mapping science and technology cover geodesy and surveying engineering, cartography and geographic information engineering, photogrammetry and remote sensing. At present, there are three undergraduate majors: surveying and mapping engineering, geographic information system and resource environment, urban and rural planning and management. Surveying and mapping engineering specialty was awarded the first batch of "Famous-brand Specialty of Shaanxi Ordinary Colleges and Universities" by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government on 200 1, and was approved as a national specialty construction site in 2007.

The Institute of Surveying and Mapping Technology has a dynamic, efficient and capable faculty, with many highly educated teachers and many imported talents. Wang Ren enjoys the treatment of double-hired academician. Professor Chen Jun, director of the National Basic Geographic Information Center, and Professor Gong Jianya, director of the State Key Laboratory of Surveying, Mapping, Remote Sensing and Information Engineering, are part-time professors of the College. Academician Li Deren and Academician Xu Houze personally guided the work of the College. At present, there are 2 provincial and ministerial-level professional and technical personnel, 8 professors, 5 associate professors/kloc-0, 9 lecturers and 2 teaching assistants, including 9 doctors and 9 doctoral students. There are three teaching departments: surveying engineering, geographic information engineering, resources and environment; Three research institutes: digital mine, geospatial information engineering and new surveying and mapping technology; Comprehensive experimental center 1 unit, with advanced GIS network laboratory, digital mine laboratory, GPS principle and application laboratory, remote sensing laboratory and all-digital photogrammetry workstation. The college enrolls 240 undergraduates and 70 postgraduates every year. The college actively carries out theoretical research and new technology research and development. In the theory and application of remote sensing quantitative estimation, high-resolution remote sensing images and GPS differential positioning are used to quantitatively estimate forest volume, biomass and carbon sink with high precision. Based on microcomputer, it highly integrates remote sensing, GIS, differential GPS and modern communication. It has made new breakthroughs in the research and development and application of mobile GIS system for digital forest resources investigation and photogrammetry system for low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle, and has certain influence in the field of forest remote sensing in China. The first national digital forest resources survey new technology exchange and academic seminar sponsored by China Forestry Society and entrusted by our school was held in Xi 'an. Xu Guanhua, former Minister of Science and Technology and Academician of China Academy of Sciences, delivered an important speech "Scientific research should be based on China and face the world". In the aspect of "3S" integration, the mine geological survey information system has formed a unique theory and technology in the fields of "digital mine", urban component survey, urban digital cadastral mapping and the second land use survey. In the aspects of surface deformation monitoring and ecological reconstruction of mining areas, it has formed new disciplinary advantages in "Three Gorges" mining, mining damage prediction and environmental assessment in land reclamation and utilization of mining areas. In the theory and application of geodetic data processing, relying on the National Geodetic Data Processing Center, a systematic theory has been formed in the fields of regional geoid refinement, precision engineering survey, mine survey system construction, deep well communication survey and GPS precise positioning, which has remarkable characteristics in China. Adhering to the road of interdisciplinary integration, the college has gradually formed five research directions with both traditional mining characteristics and modern surveying and mapping scientific characteristics: theory and application of quantitative estimation of remote sensing, theory and application of digital mining, theory and application of mining subsidence and ecological reconstruction, theory and application of geodetic data processing, digital close-range photogrammetry and computer vision.

At present, it undertakes the project of National Natural Science Foundation "Study on Deformation Mechanism and Optimal Correction Model of High Spatial Resolution Remote Sensing Images in Forest Areas", the key scientific and technological project of Ministry of Education "Study on Mobile GIS System for Forest Resources Survey" and the key laboratory project of State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping "Study on Theory and Technology of Urban and Rural Integration Temporal Cadastral Information System". Shaanxi province 13 1 15 project "research and development of mobile GIS system for resource investigation", Shaanxi natural fund project "research on nonlinear law of surface subsidence in fully mechanized top-coal caving mining area with thick loose layer" and "research on mining damage mechanism and prediction theory in mountainous areas", Shaanxi provincial education department special project "research on target recognition of multi-source remote sensing image fusion" and "autonomous navigation GIS for mine rescue robots" 19960.8688888666 196

A wise man corrects his own mistakes through the mistakes of others. The Institute of Surveying and Mapping Technology has always been open and eclectic with its broad mind, learning from each other's strengths. Adhering to the tenet of running a school that people are satisfied with, taking educating people as the foundation and improving students' comprehensive quality as the goal, we have continuously strengthened the construction of teaching style and study style and the cultivation of students' practical ability, deepened the reform of education and teaching, paid attention to quality and highlighted characteristics, and trained more than a thousand professionals in surveying and mapping engineering and geographic information engineering for the country. Mainly distributed in surveying and mapping, petroleum, railway, highway, water conservancy and electric power design, geological survey and design, forestry, land management, construction, coal, education and other industries and scientific research institutes, engaged in basic surveying and mapping, engineering survey and management, resource utilization and planning, and the development and application of geographic information systems. In the past ten years, the one-time employment rate of graduates has reached over 98%.
