Details of cord blood bank in Shandong Province

Relying on Qilu Hospital of Shandong University as the technical support, the umbilical cord blood bank set up an expert committee, with Vice President Kong Beihua as the chairman, Professor Shen Baijun and Professor Hou Ming as the deputy directors, Ju and Liu Jiaoshou as the members of the expert committee, and the doctor as the secretary of the expert committee. Professor Shen Baijun, a pediatric hematology expert and doctoral supervisor, was appointed as the director of cord blood bank. The umbilical cord blood bank regularly invites experts at home and abroad for technical guidance to ensure the rapid development of umbilical cord blood research and the scientific management of stem cell preservation.

Shandong cord blood bank is located in Jinan High-tech Development Zone, covering an area of 22,854 square meters and a building area of more than 7,000 square meters. It has invested more than 80 million yuan to build a sterile laminar flow room, an HLA room, a comprehensive laboratory, a technology development research room and a cryopreservation room that meet GMP standards. Equipped with flow cytometry, DNA sequencer, pathogen culture system, programmed cryostat, MVE cryogenic storage system and intelligent computer management system to ensure the high quality and long-term storage safety of umbilical cord blood.

Up to now, the umbilical cord blood bank has stored nearly 40,000 umbilical cord blood stem cells, searched HLA-matched umbilical cord blood for more than 3,000 times at home and abroad, provided more than 500 qualified umbilical cord blood for clinical stem cell transplantation, and published more than 80 papers.
