Computer Network Information Center was established in March 1995. It is the system integration, operation and service guarantee institution of scientific research informatization and management informatization of China Academy of Sciences, and the research and development and demonstration base of informatization application technology.
Computer Network Information Center operates and manages cstnet, one of the earliest Internet backbones in China, and is an important member of international academic networks. High-speed interconnection with domestic Internet backbones and major academic networks in Europe and America, undertaking the task of national next-generation Internet demonstration project, is an important force in the frontier technology fields such as network and cloud computing in the future.
