Hardangervidda travel center
This building in Norway includes a coffee shop, a restaurant, a souvenir shop, an office and a classroom. It is located at the foot of the mountain, with simple shape, and the roof imitates the ups and downs of the terrain, which makes people closer to nature. A stone wall under the roof runs through the whole building. There are two fireplaces in the room, which are dim and soundproof. The building echoes the site, wood, stone, fire, food, mountains and animals, in sharp contrast with the existing tourist center. The wall and roof are of wood structure, with an area of 1500m2. The 3.5X4 column net creates a kind and pleasant space in the hall. Each node adopts different installation angles, and after physical model experiments, it is transmitted to the computer, prefabricated in the factory and assembled on site.
Ireland Giant Road Travel Center
The Giant's Road was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. This landscape is located about 80 kilometers northwest of Belfast, Northern Ireland, in Boyantz Cosway on the Atlantic coast. On the cliff as high as 1 10 meters, you can see countless stone pillars. The coastline with a total length of 8 kilometers is hexagonal, and 40 thousand stone pillars extend from the land to the sea, forming a stone tunnel. Such an orderly arrangement of stone pillars can not help but make people suspect that this is not a natural sculpture but an artificial intentional accumulation. Its landscape seems to be made by giants, so it is called "Giant's Road".
In April, 2003, the Northern Ireland Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment and the Ministry of Environmental Protection jointly launched an international competition to solicit the design scheme of the Giant's Road Visitor Center from architects in all EU member States. The competition is conducted in a single-stage mode, which conforms to the relevant international competition norms of UNESCO -UIA and is recognized by UIA. The purpose of this competition is to build a world-class tourist facility for this famous landscape, which should not only have excellent architectural quality, but also highlight environmental sensitivity and be organically integrated with the local landscape. The design scheme of the building will be environmentally and financially sustainable to adapt to the harmonious development of the local community in the future. Participants need to complete the planning and integration of various facilities on the land of 65,438+0,800 square meters, including: educational facilities (including permanent and temporary exhibition areas, classrooms, theaters, etc. ), retail stores, catering facilities, tourist information centers, related supporting service facilities and management areas. In addition, a parking lot should be designed and the traffic routes connected with the new facilities should be planned. Participants were also invited to give suggestions on outdoor public space and transportation modes suitable for protecting scenic spots while providing the design scheme of the visitor center. In a word, the design of the project must comprehensively consider the unique natural features of the site to ensure the environmental performance, maintainability and sustainable development of the building, which is also the reference standard for competition selection.
The jury of the competition, led by Finnish architect Juhani pallas Ma, held a meeting in Belfast from August 2/KLOC-0 to August 26, 2005, and selected the best work from 20 1 pieces submitted. On June 65438+1October 1 1, the Secretary-General of Ireland announced the award. The jury spoke highly of the rich architectural forms, excellent quality and innovative interpretation of the theme and objectives of the project.
The winner of the first prize is Rosin Hennehan of Hennehampton Architects in Dublin, Ireland.
Introduction: Roisin Heneghan and Heneghan Peng Architects from Ireland won the first prize of this competition for their excellent design scheme that best meets the requirements of the competition. The designed visitor center is a huge memorial building, which stands quietly between heaven and earth in a simple but unobtrusive manner, and has the characteristics of interaction with the environment, fully demonstrating the connotation and purpose of the project. The design scheme takes the simplicity and elegance of the building as the main line and applies it to the planning according to the site topography. The whole project is located on a gentle slope covered with grass, and a piece of land is opened for parking. Architectural design echoes the topographical elements of the landscape, which is huge in scale and magnificent in momentum. One of the elements of the architect's success is to avoid the interference of architecture with the natural environment and maintain the visual integrity of the magnificent and famous landscape and horizon on this coastal cliff.
Tourist center is an important aspect in the design of tourist destinations, and it plays a very important role in the development of tourist destinations.
