Xiong Yue Senior High School, a century-old prestigious school, is located at the foot of Wanger Mountain in Xiongyue Town, an ancient city in the development zone. Its history can be traced back to the junior high school affiliated to Gaiping Simple Normal School founded in 19 10. 1954 moved from Gaiping county to Xiong Yue new school, 1958 became an independent senior high school and changed its name to Xiong Yue. 1959 Xiong Yue senior middle school was identified as one of the seven key middle schools directly under the provincial education department. 1960 won the the State Council Prize at the national cultural and educational system group meeting. Since the establishment of Xiong Yue High School, tens of thousands of outstanding graduates have been trained for the country, 168 students have been admitted to Tsinghua and Peking University, and more than 3,000 students have been promoted to Fudan and Zhejiang.
Since it was transferred to Yingkou Development Zone in 2003, the school has undergone earth-shaking changes, covering an area of 94,000 square meters and a building area of 46,000 square meters. There is a campus that haunts many alumni.
Wisteria Garden was named after two clusters of wisteria beside the main hall door of the I-shaped room of the old school building half a century ago. These two clusters of wisteria were planted by Mr. Wang Yongqian, a biology teacher studying in Xiong Yue, when Middle School moved from Gaizhou Town to Xiongyue. For more than half a century, together with Xiong Yue High School, it is still lush, and full of green has become the symbol of the alma mater of several generations of Xiong Yue high school students. There are more than 70 species of specimen plants in the garden. When bidding for the provincial model school in 2004, pavilions, rockeries and fish ponds were built in the park. The school has a main teaching building, a comprehensive building, a senior three teaching building and an art department. Nearly 100 pieces of cultural exhibition boards and more than 300 potted plants are embedded in the walls of the building with inspirational, freehand brushwork and life-feeling contents. No matter spring, summer, autumn and winter, the four seasons are warm and pleasant, which has played a positive role in the development of students' daily behavior norms and physical and mental health.
School leaders are a lean, pragmatic, united and enterprising group. They have advanced educational ideas, a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to work, can keenly grasp the pulse of the times and the development situation of education in the region, scientifically and effectively formulate school development plans, formulate effective educational objectives and management measures, and promote the continuous improvement of school quality.
The school has complete educational facilities and reasonable configuration. There are 70 multimedia standard classrooms, laboratories, students' reading rooms, multifunctional lecture halls and multi-network digital campus networks, which provide superior conditions for the modernization of teaching methods. The 3,000-square-meter canteen has advanced facilities, standardized management, cleanliness and good service, which makes students feel at home when dining here. Two *** 10000 square meters student apartments, with complete living facilities and standardized management, have 380 rooms, each with 4-6 people, and can accommodate more than 2000 students.
The school has a strong faculty. More than 95% of the teachers have been engaged in teaching for many years, and they have rich college entrance examination guidance and modern teaching experience. A large number of outstanding teachers have emerged in our school, such as Zhang and provincial "May 1" labor medal winners and provincial special-grade teachers. It is these teachers who are the first to set an example by teaching and educating people, who have made selfless contributions to the construction of Xiong Yue high school teachers' political and ideological background, and it is their dedication that has precipitated the rich humanistic background of our school.
In the process of practicing the school-running concept of "laying the foundation for students' lifelong development", Xiong Yue senior middle schools vigorously promote quality education. Whenever new students enter school, the school organizes them to participate in military training in the army and educate students in patriotism; Actively organize students to participate in social practice activities and carry out social surveys, so that students can increase their observation and understanding of society and promote the formation of students' healthy personality.
1980 was identified as one of the first 40 key high schools by the provincial education department, and in 2004 it was identified as one of 100 model high schools by the provincial education department. In recent years, Xiong Yue Senior Middle School has successively won more than 20 honorary titles such as "Liaoning Civilized Unit", "Liaoning Civilized School Demonstration" and "Liaoning Green School". The development of the school has also attracted the attention of many news media in the central, provincial and municipal governments. On September 17, the sixth edition of China Education News was entitled "Watering Buds Carefully and Blooming with Moral Flowers".

On the occasion of the centenary of Xiong Yue High School, alumni from all over the country sent representatives to visit their alma mater. The old leaders and teachers of the school have also made suggestions for the centenary celebration and expressed their concern for the development of the school. Comrade Li Guixian, a 59th graduate and former vice-chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, wrote an inscription for his alma mater "The Cradle of Education under Wanger Mountain", and Xu Weiguo, executive vice governor of Liaoning Province, also sent a congratulatory letter for the centenary celebration of Xiong Yue Middle School.
