Past lives of urban beauticians?

Urban beauticians are actually what we call sanitation workers.

Sanitation industry is a traditional industry with a long history. 1902, Beijing established the General Administration of Industrial Patrol, which is responsible for urban public security and environmental sanitation, and set up a "sweeper" in the General Administration, which is responsible for sweeping roads, removing garbage, dredging ditches and checking sanitation. At that time, sanitation workers were politically oppressed and bullied, and lived a hungry and cold life, not to mention their status in society. They have been living at the bottom of society, greeting every dawn of the city with hard-working hands, doing the dirtiest and most bitter work and giving people a clean and tidy environment.

It was not until the founding of New China that such an ordinary and important job began to get due respect and began to be called "urban beautician". The sanitation worker in the picture, Shi Chuanxiang, a dung digger who "would rather have one person dirty than ten thousand people clean", was named as the first generation model worker in New China. Up to now, many sanitation workers have been rated as national model workers every year. The status of the entire sanitation industry has also gradually improved.
