The Veterans Affairs Bureau is an integral part of the State Council, and its specific work is as follows:
1, to formulate policies and regulations on ideological and political work, management and security of retired military personnel and organize their implementation;
2. Praise and highlight the spiritual demeanor and value orientation of veterans who sacrificed for the party, the country and the people;
3, responsible for the transfer and resettlement of demobilized military cadres, demobilized cadres, retired cadres and retired soldiers, service management and treatment guarantee for retired soldiers who choose their own jobs;
4, the organization of education and training, preferential treatment and pensions for retired military personnel. ;
5, to guide the national yongjunyoushu work;
6, responsible for the martyrs and veterans honor awards, military cemetery maintenance and commemorative activities.
The purpose of the Veterans Affairs Bureau is to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of military families, strengthen the construction of veterans' service guarantee system, establish and improve a centralized and unified veterans' management guarantee system with clear rights and responsibilities, and make military personnel become a respected profession of the whole society. The plan proposes to integrate the responsibility of the Ministry of Civil Affairs for veterans' special care and placement with the relevant responsibilities of the Political Work Department and the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission to form the responsibility of officers stationed in Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
