Brief introduction of Shanxi Wentong Vocational and Technical College

Shanxi Wentong Vocational and Technical College was established in May 2004 with the approval of Shanxi Provincial People's Government Letter No.75 [2004], and was put on record by the Ministry of Education. The College is located in the hinterland of Shanxi, the hometown of Shanxi merchants and Sanxian-Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province, with Pingyao Ancient City in the east, Linfen River in the west, Mianshan Scenic Area and Universiade expressway in the south and 108 National Road in the north, with convenient transportation, developed economy and culture and pleasant climate. The college covers a total area of 190748 square meters, with a total construction area of 49600 square meters. Campus is divided into teaching area, living area, sports area and leisure area. The campus is shaded by trees, the lake is rippling and the scenery is beautiful. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 6,008,330 yuan, including paper books17.10.68 million, and electronic books14.10.67 million. There are 3 on-campus practice training centers, 16 training places and 26 off-campus practice training bases, supporting various majors. The college was named Wentong, which was taken from the earliest foreign language school in China, and was regarded as the "Shi Jing Wentong Pavilion" initiated by China Modern School. Shi Jing University Hall, the first modern university in China, was founded in 1902 1.898, which is the predecessor of today's Peking University. Therefore, we hope that Wentong Vocational and Technical College can inherit the tradition of Wentong, conform to the historical trend and create a new talent training model. College * * * offers foreign-related nursing, applied chemical technology (coal chemical engineering), electronic instrument maintenance, hotel management, computer speed recording, English, Japanese, Korean, secretarial, midwifery and other 12 majors, with more than 3000 students. Since its establishment, in the face of the increasing demand from all walks of life for graduates from higher vocational colleges, our college has followed the guiding ideology of service-oriented and employment-oriented, given full play to its advantages and professional characteristics, continuously improved the conditions for talent training from the following aspects, and strived to improve the quality of talent training in our college. (1) Taking the economic and social development needs of Shanxi Province and Jinzhong City as the main orientation, radiating some provinces and regions, and building a professional system with distinctive connotations. The college has set up a number of majors focusing on foreign-related nursing and applied English, especially the nursing major. Relying on various favorable resources of local medical institutions in equipment, teaching and research, training and other aspects, it has become a characteristic major with the same language.
